The American Express® Platinum Card charges ₹60,000 plus GST as a joining fee and the same ₹60,000 again at renewal. There is no spend based waiver on this card, so the ₹60,000 is a fixed yearly cost you pay regardless of how much you spend.
The INR 20 lakh spending condition unlocks a renewal voucher benefit and is not an annual-fee waiver.
Welcome vouchers worth up to INR 60,000 require INR 50,000 net spending in the first two months and payment of the annual fee.
Accelerated reward rates are stated as up to 20X or up to 5X; participating brands, exclusions and caps are not disclosed in the fetched product-page text.
The detailed fuel surcharge rules and some reward exclusions are reported by CardInsider and should be verified against the current American Express terms.
Insurance benefits have trip-duration, claim-count, hospitalisation, age and pre-existing-condition restrictions.
The card is currently issued only to residents of listed Indian cities, subject to conditions.
