₹2,999 + GST. Year one is waived on ₹40,000 of retail spend within 90 days of card setup, and later years are waived on ₹1.5 lakh in the previous anniversary year.

A ₹13,500 month on Vetta

Say you put ₹4,000 of utility bills, ₹5,000 of groceries and ₹4,500 of other spending on the AU Bank Vetta Credit Card each month. That is ₹13,500. Two things happen.

First, the fee. Three months of that is ₹40,500, which clears the ₹40,000-in-90-days target and waives your first-year fee of ₹2,999 + GST. Keep it up all year and you reach ₹1.62 lakh, past the ₹1.5 lakh you need to waive the second year too.

Second, the points. Vetta earns "up to" 4 reward points per ₹100, so ₹13,500 earns at most 540 points a month. The words "up to" matter: AU's page does not say which spends get the full 4, and the split sits in the MITC. Reviews say utilities and groceries are where Vetta earns the most. AU also does not publish what one point is worth, so we cannot turn those points into rupees for you. Check the rewards catalogue before you count them as money.

Offered Vetta when you asked for something else?

A pattern on Reddit: people applying for another AU card end up with Vetta. One June 2026 thread is titled "Duped by AU Bank Agent", from a user who applied for a lifetime-free Zenith and received Vetta. Another, from September 2026, asks how to move from Vetta to the AU LIT card after being offered Vetta for life free.

Users also report getting Vetta lifetime free through CRED and AU agents. That is not the standard offer. If someone promises you a free Vetta, get the fee terms in writing before you activate; users who received a card they did not ask for worry that activating it means accepting it.

What else comes with it

  • 1 domestic and 1 international airport lounge visit each quarter. AU's page does not spell out the lounge network or rules, so check the T&Cs.
  • Reviews and one Reddit thread mention railway lounge access; this is not in our data, so confirm with AU.
  • 1,000 bonus points if you make a retail purchase on your birthday. Fuel does not count.
  • Air accident cover up to ₹50 lakh and a global concierge.
  • A 1% fuel surcharge waiver on ₹400 to ₹5,000 transactions, capped at ₹100. Fuel itself earns no points.
  • Forex markup of 3.49%, which makes it a poor card to use abroad.

Vetta against the rest of AU's lineup

AU's ladder is confusing. AU Ananta costs ₹2,000. Vetta costs ₹2,999. AU Zenith+ costs ₹4,999 but cuts forex to 0.99% and gives 4 domestic and 4 international lounge visits a quarter. If you spend about ₹80,000 abroad a year, the forex saving on Zenith+ alone covers the ₹2,000 gap.

Is AU Vetta worth it?

Public opinion on Vetta is thin. Our sentiment comes from five review sites rather than Reddit threads, and they agree on one thing: the card works for people who pay household bills and groceries on a card and spend enough to clear the fee waiver, which on ₹1.5 lakh a year is about ₹12,500 a month.

Get it if that is you, or if AU offers it lifetime free in writing. Skip it if you spend less than ₹1.5 lakh a year, travel abroad often, or want a reward rate you can actually calculate before you apply. For AU's full range, see our AU Bank credit cards guide.
