Recommendation
The card is meant for Indian Defence personnel. Axis's application form decides, and you should expect a civilian application to be declined.
Probably not. Axis built Pride Signature for Indian Defence personnel, and the eligibility on its page is focused on them. Users do ask whether civilians can apply, and nothing in our data suggests Axis says yes. If you are not in service, skip ahead to the alternatives below.
This is the higher of Axis's two defence cards. The entry tier is the Axis Bank Pride Platinum. It also has nothing to do with LIC Axis Signature or Samsung Axis Signature, despite the similar names.
There is no joining fee and no annual fee in year one. From year two the fee is ₹500 + GST, and Axis waives it if you spent ₹40,000 in the previous year. That is about ₹3,300 a month, which most people clear with everyday spending. Users ask whether utility payments count toward the ₹40,000. Our data does not say, so check Axis's MITC before you rely on it.
The earn rate is 8 EDGE REWARD points per ₹200, confirmed on Axis's page in October 2026. Note the ₹200 unit, not ₹100. Axis does not state a point value in our data. If a point is worth around ₹0.20, which fits users' "under 1%" description of basic Axis cards, the maths looks like this:
Users also report no points on utilities, fuel and government payments. So this is not a card you hold for rewards.
Axis updated this card's terms from 28 August 2026. Our data does not show what changed, so read the current terms for lounge rules and exclusions.
Users in eight threads say Axis lets most customers hold only three credit cards. That limit is user-reported, not in our data, but it changes the decision. If you might want Axis ACE for flat cashback or Axis Neo for app discounts later, Pride Signature could be taking a slot you would rather give them.
A caveat on the sentiment: the threads behind these views are general Axis portfolio discussions. None is specifically about Pride Signature.
If you are eligible, fly domestically a few times a year and will spend ₹40,000 a year, yes. It costs nothing to hold and the lounge and dining perks are real.
If you want a card that earns, or you already have two Axis cards you like, give the slot to a better earner.
