Bank of Baroda waives the renewal fee if you spend ₹70,000 in the previous year, which is about ₹5,833 a month. If your card spend sits below that, treat ₹750 as a real yearly cost that your rewards have to clear first.

What is the reward rate on the BOBCARD SELECT?

You earn 5 points per ₹100 on online spends. Everything else earns 1 point per ₹100. Each point is worth about ₹0.2 when you redeem it well, so ₹10,000 of top category spend gives you 500 points, roughly ₹100, which is about 1% back. The accelerated rate stops after ₹20,000 of spend in a month. Fuel, select MCCs earn nothing at all.

At ₹70,000 of yearly spend the card returns roughly ₹140 at its general rate of about 0.2%, against a ₹750 renewal fee. That does not clear the fee on its own, so this card only makes sense if the lounge visits or the co-brand benefits are worth the gap to you.
