Visible page content and JSON-LD metadata on the same official URL show inconsistent reward wording.

UPI/₹199 promotional block appears inconsistent with fee table showing Joining and Annual Fees NIL.

Effective 18th June 2026, issuer states revisions to select features and applicable T&C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Joining and annual fees are nil. The only fee in our record is ₹199 for the UPI add-on.

₹20,000: the line that decides what Wealth gives you

IDFC FIRST Wealth costs nothing to hold, charges no forex markup and comes from a core bank. That much is settled. What decides whether it is a good card for you is one number: ₹20,000.

Users across 9 threads report that the lounge visits and the Visa Infinite movie offer only switch on if you spent ₹20,000 on the card in the previous month. Spend that much and Wealth is a strong free travel card. Spend less and it becomes a zero-forex card with little else to offer. IDFC's own terms in our record do not spell this out, so confirm the current rule in your MITC.

This page covers FIRST Wealth only, not FIRST Select or FIRST Millennia, which sit lower in IDFC's lineup.

What it earns

IDFC quotes Wealth's rewards as multiples:

  • 10X on international spends, which stacks with the 0% forex markup.
  • 10X from the first eligible transaction, per the bank's wording. The exact scope is not clear, so check the MITC.
  • 3X on other eligible online and offline spends.
  • Up to 3X on UPI, through a separate UPI add-on that costs ₹199.
  • 10% bonus points on flights and 20% on hotels booked through the IDFC app or FIRST Rewards Gallery.

Our record does not state the rupee value of a point for Wealth. On other IDFC FIRST cards we track, 1X is 1 point per ₹200 and a point is worth ₹0.25. If Wealth follows that rule, 10X is about 1.25% and 3X about 0.375%. That is why 8 threads call it weak for daily spending.

Where Wealth earns its keep

The perks Reddit praises most are not the points. They are the safety net:

  • Users describe roadside assistance and a "cancellation for any reason" trip cover. The most upvoted thread on the card is about a cancellation claim being paid.
  • Users report interest-free cash withdrawals until the due date, with only a flat fee.
  • 4 complimentary international lounge visits a year, subject to the spend rule above.
  • Golf rounds and lessons through Visa Infinite.

Confirm limits on the cover and cash fee with IDFC before you rely on them.

Things that changed in 2026

IDFC revised select features from 18 June 2026. Two changes matter most. Our audit notes that reward points earned from the July 2026 statement cycle may now be valid for 24 months, which would make older "never expire" reviews out of date; this is not yet confirmed, so check IDFC's current terms before you rely on it. And the forex markup is 0%; the 1.5% figure on some sites is the old rate.

A Sep 2026 thread also warns against reading too much into a "1% value back on government spends" promotion on the card. Read the offer terms before routing tax or NPS payments through it.

Our take on IDFC FIRST Wealth

Get it if you travel abroad or pay in foreign currency, want a free card from a core bank you can hold for years, and already spend ₹20,000 a month on it. For that person it is one of the best no-fee travel backups in India. More options sit in our guide to credit cards for travel in India.

Skip it as a main rewards card. For online shopping, a cashback card returns several times more. If you want free lounges without a monthly spend target, look elsewhere.
