Frequently Asked Questions

None for free. Each quarter you spend ₹1 lakh, you can choose either a ₹1,000 voucher or one domestic lounge visit.

Where the 5% really ends

Millennia's pitch is simple: 5% back on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Tata CLiQ, Swiggy, Zomato, Uber, BookMyShow, Sony LIV and Cult.fit. That part is true.

The part people find out later is the ceiling. Partner cashback stops at 1,000 CashPoints a month, which you reach at ₹20,000 of partner spend. Below that line, Millennia is one of the cleanest cashback cards in India. Above it, every extra rupee in that bucket earns nothing.

Everything else earns 1%, capped at ₹1,000 a month. Fuel, EMI, wallet loads and rent earn nothing. One CashPoint is worth ₹1 when you redeem against your statement.

So, does Millennia give lounge access?

This is the question most people search for, and the honest answer is: only if you earn it.

HDFC used to give Millennia holders free domestic lounge visits. That changed in December 2023. Now, for every calendar quarter in which you spend ₹1 lakh on the card, you pick one reward: a ₹1,000 gift voucher or one domestic lounge visit. Spend ₹1 lakh every quarter and you can get up to four visits a year, but each one costs you the voucher you could have taken instead.

If you see an older "HDFC Millennia lounge access list" with 8 free visits a year, it is out of date. Treat Millennia as a cashback card that occasionally gets you into a lounge, not as a travel card.

A normal month on Millennia

₹15,000 across Amazon, Swiggy and Uber earns 750 CashPoints. ₹10,000 of other spends earns 100 more. That is ₹850 back on ₹25,000, about 3.4%, before any quarterly voucher.

One cost to plan around: users report a ₹99 + GST fee each time they redeem CashPoints as statement credit. Redeem in bigger batches, or use the points on SmartBuy for flights, hotels or vouchers, where users say the fee does not apply.

Millennia or Regalia Gold?

People search this a lot because many Millennia holders want to move up. The two cards do different jobs:

  • Millennia (₹1,000 + GST) pays straightforward cashback on a fixed list of everyday brands.
  • Regalia Gold (₹2,500 + GST) earns reward points, adds lounge visits tied to spending, and makes more sense once your annual spend and travel go up.

If most of your spend is food delivery, cabs and online shopping, Millennia earns more for less. If you fly a few times a year and spend well over ₹3 to 4 lakh annually, Regalia Gold is the natural upgrade, and holders often get it by keeping Millennia in good standing first.

Getting the fee waived

The joining and annual fees are ₹1,000 + GST each. The renewal fee is waived if you spend ₹1 lakh in the year before renewal, about ₹8,300 a month. Users report lifetime-free offers through some salary and relationship accounts, but others say branch staff refuse the request, so do not count on it.

Monzy's verdict on HDFC Millennia

Get Millennia if you spend ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 a month across its partner brands and want one card that covers shopping, food and cabs. It pays a clean 5% there and is easy to keep free.

Skip it if your online spend is well above ₹20,000 a month or mostly on one platform, or if lounge access is the reason you are applying. A higher-cap card or a platform co-brand will serve you better.
