The HSBC RuPay Cashback Credit Card charges ₹499 plus GST as a joining fee and the same ₹499 again at renewal. HSBC waives the renewal fee if you spend ₹2L in the previous year, which is about ₹16,667 a month. If your card spend sits below that, treat ₹499 as a real yearly cost that your rewards have to clear first.
HSBC caps total cashback at ₹400 per calendar month and may disallow spends falling under excluded MCCs.
No cashback on several excluded categories listed by issuer (including fuel MCCs, wallet loads, rent-related, insurance, utilities and others).
