Kotak Solitaire Credit Card₹30,000 + GST to join and ₹10,000 + GST a year from year two. The annual fee is waived if you spend ₹10 lakh in the previous anniversary year.
Indus Solitaire costs ₹30,000 + GST to join, ₹35,400 all-in, and ₹10,000 + GST a year after that. Every other number on the card has to be weighed against that first one. The reward side will not cover it: 1.5 Reward Points per ₹100, at ₹0.50 a point, is 0.75% back (users quote a lower 1 point per ₹100, so check your statement). So the honest test is whether zero forex and the memberships are worth ₹35,400 to you, or whether you can get the card lifetime free.
This is IndusInd Bank's card. It is not the Kotak Solitaire Credit Card, an invite-only card tied to Kotak's Solitaire banking programme, though Reddit often mentions the two together. If you have seen Indus Solitaire listed at ₹499 with 3.5% forex, that listing is wrong.
Indus Solitaire charges no markup on foreign currency spends. On ₹5 lakh of overseas spend a year, that saves about ₹17,500 in markup compared with a 3.5% card, and you still earn 0.75% in points. Put ₹10 lakh abroad and the saving is about ₹35,000, roughly the joining fee.
Two rules keep the saving intact. Pay in the local currency when a terminal offers to charge you in rupees, and avoid cash withdrawals abroad, which count as cash advances.
The complimentary ITC membership is gone: new customers from 15 September 2025 cannot get it, and existing holders lost it on 5 October 2025. Lounge access remains, but domestic visits are now spend-gated. IndusInd started tracking spends on 1 April 2026 to unlock domestic access from the July 2026 quarter. Our data does not include the visit count or the exact threshold, so ask IndusInd before you rely on it. More on how card lounge rules work: credit card lounge access in India.
Users agree the card is great free and hard to justify paid, and users report IndusInd staff offering it lifetime free. Some ask whether that is a scam. It can be genuine, but get the offer in writing with both the joining and annual fee shown as ₹0, and check your first statement for a ₹30,000 line. Note that Taj Epicure is tied to the joining fee being paid, so a free card may not include it.
Take it if it is offered lifetime free in writing and you travel abroad. Zero forex alone makes it a useful card to carry.
Pay for it only if you spend heavily overseas and will use the Taj and EazyDiner memberships; at ₹10 lakh of foreign spend the forex saving roughly covers the fee. If you want high rewards on everyday spends, users point to HDFC Infinia instead, and the renewal waiver at ₹10 lakh a year is far out of reach for most people.
