Frequently Asked Questions

No. Despite the name, it has no lounge, flight or hotel benefits.

₹4,000 a month decides it

The one number that matters on RBL Platinum TravelEasy is ₹4,000. That is how much fuel and Ola or Uber spending it takes each month to fill the card's 10% cashback cap of ₹400.

Hit it every month and you earn ₹4,800 a year against a fee of ₹999 + GST (about ₹1,179). Spend ₹1,500 a month and you earn ₹1,800, so the fee eats most of it:

  • ₹1,500 a month: ₹1,800 a year, about ₹621 after the fee.
  • ₹3,000 a month: ₹3,600 a year, about ₹2,421 after the fee.
  • ₹4,000 or more: ₹4,800 a year, about ₹3,621 after the fee.

The cashback arrives as reward points, not as a statement credit. The fee itself is reversed for the second year if you spend ₹1 lakh in the first.

One ₹400 cap or two?

RBL's product page is not consistent here. The bullet points list a ₹400 monthly cap on fuel and a separate ₹400 cap on Ola and Uber. But RBL's own value table shows a single line, "Ola / Uber / Fuel, ₹400 per month", worth ₹4,800 a year. That points to one shared cap. Plan on ₹400 in total until RBL confirms otherwise in writing.

There is a second wrinkle. RBL's general terms list "Fuel & Auto" as not eligible for rewards since 15 October 2024, while this card advertises 10% on fuel. Check that the fuel cashback actually posts on your first statement.

Fill fuel in amounts of ₹500 to ₹4,000 and you also get a surcharge waiver of up to ₹100 a month. New cardholders get a ₹1,000 gift voucher after paying the fee and spending ₹2,000 in 30 days.

Not a travel card, despite the name

TravelEasy has no lounge access, no flight or hotel benefits and no movie offer. It is also not the American Express Platinum Travel card, which has milestone vouchers and Taj tie-ups. Our sentiment report for this name turned out to be about that Amex card, so we have no usable reviews of TravelEasy itself.

One recent Reddit thread asks how to apply for TravelEasy at all, because the poster could not find an option on RBL's website or app. If you want it, you may have to ask RBL directly.

TravelEasy or LifeEasy?

RBL's Platinum LifeEasy costs ₹1,999 and pays 10% on fuel and cabs too, but with ₹200 caps, plus 5% on groceries, a quarterly lounge visit and a BookMyShow offer. If fuel and cabs are your only real categories, TravelEasy is cheaper, and its ₹1 lakh reversal is far easier to reach than LifeEasy's ₹3.5 lakh.

Monzy's verdict on TravelEasy

It suits someone who spends ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 a month on petrol and Ola or Uber combined, and who will put ₹1 lakh a year on it so the second year is free. For that person, it is a simple card that returns around ₹4,000 a year.

If you fill mostly at one fuel brand, a fuel co-brand with a bigger cap will do better, such as IndianOil RBL Bank. For more options, see our fuel credit cards guide.
