Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, ₹0 to join and ₹0 a year, but Federal offers it as a limited-period lifetime-free deal. Save the offer page or letter as proof.

The one thing RuPay Signet does that its siblings cannot

Federal Bank sells Signet on three networks: Visa, Mastercard and RuPay. On paper they share one benefit grid and the same ₹0 fee. The difference is UPI. Only the RuPay Signet links to GPay, PhonePe or Paytm, so it is the only one you can scan at a shop counter.

If you want UPI on credit, ask for RuPay by name. If you do not care about UPI, the Mastercard Signet gives you the same package.

A note on our data: our record for this exact card is almost empty, and Federal Bank's site blocked our October 2026 re-check. The benefits below come from Federal's Signet family page as our team logged it. Confirm them on your own offer letter.

What you get for ₹0

  • Joining and annual fee: ₹0, offered as a lifetime-free deal. Keep a screenshot of the offer.
  • Welcome: a ₹200 Amazon Pay voucher if you spend ₹3,000 in the first 30 days.
  • Lounge: 1 domestic visit in the next quarter after you spend ₹20,000 in a quarter, so at most 4 a year.
  • Movies: an INOX buy-one-get-one offer once a quarter.
  • Swiggy vouchers on ₹20,000 of quarterly spend. The voucher value is not stated.

One recent thread says the movie offer has gone, so check it in the app before you plan around it.

Points, and why users do not chase them

Signet earns 3X on electronics and apparel, 2X on entertainment and 1X on everything else. The family page states the grid per ₹200; an older dataset says per ₹100. Federal does not publish a point value, so we cannot give you an honest percentage.

Users are blunt about this. Across five or more threads, the view is that Signet is not a rewards card. People keep it for being free, for UPI, and for the instant discounts Federal runs on Swiggy, Zomato, BookMyShow and flights during bank sales.

Applied for Celesta, got Signet?

This is the most common complaint, in seven or more threads. People apply for Mastercard Celesta or Imperio and get Signet with no choice offered. Check the card name before you activate it. If you wanted something else, call Federal Bank first.

Users report moving up after a limit increase, but Federal publishes no threshold. A separate thread notes that holding Signet may get in the way of a Scapia approval, so if Scapia is your real goal, apply for that first.

Should you take RuPay Signet?

Take it if you want a free RuPay card for daily UPI payments, a first card to build your CIBIL history, or a backup card for Federal's sale discounts. Users describe it as a decent, low-risk card for exactly that.

Leave it if you want real rewards, lounge visits without a spend target, or a card for spends abroad. For first-card options, see our first-time credit card picks.
