Things to Keep in Mind

Online cashback rate depends on FD slab (1% or 1.5%).

Cashback capped at 500 Cash Points per day and 3,000 Cash Points per month.

UPI cashback has a threshold caveat (applies when total UPI spend exceeds ₹2,000 as per FAQ wording).

Source-level inconsistency noted: Paisabazaar says limit up to 90% of FD, while SBM secured-cards page has generic wording of limit equal to FD.

Promotional merchant offers may change and their validity dates and detailed terms were not stated.

The accessible pages do not provide the complete list of cashback exclusions or transaction types.

Frequently Asked Questions

Paisa+ is a RuPay secured card that works on UPI and earns 1% to 1.5% cashback online and 1% offline. Its main use is building a credit score against a fixed deposit.

Who Paisa+ is for

Paisa+ is a secured credit card from SBM Bank, sold through Paisabazaar. You open a fixed deposit with SBM, and you get a RuPay credit card against it. It is meant for people with no credit history, or a damaged one, who want a card that reports to the credit bureaus while they rebuild.

It is not a rewards card, and it does not try to be. Paisabazaar sells several cards under its name from different banks, including SBM's StepUp card, so check that the offer in front of you says Paisa+.

Your FD sets your limit and your cashback

Two numbers come from the size of your deposit:

  • Limit: up to 90% of the FD, per SBM's key fact statement. A ₹10,000 FD gives you about ₹9,000 to spend.
  • Online cashback: 1% with an FD of ₹5,000 to under ₹10,000, and 1.5% at ₹10,000 or more.

Offline spends earn 1%. Eligible UPI payments earn 1% once your UPI spend crosses ₹2,000; SBM's wording is unclear on whether that is per payment or in total, so check your statement. Cashback comes as Cash Points worth ₹1 each, capped at 500 a day and 3,000 a month.

With a ₹10,000 FD, ₹6,000 a month of online spend earns ₹90. Small, but the real return is the credit history you build by paying in full.

The fee, and how to avoid it

There is no joining fee. The annual fee is ₹499 + GST, waived if you spend ₹50,000 in the year before renewal, about ₹4,200 a month. On a limit of ₹9,000 that is very doable if you use the card for regular bills and pay it off each month.

One more thing users complain about, though it is about the marketplace rather than this card: checking eligibility on Paisabazaar often leads to a lot of sales calls. Our sentiment data is mostly about Paisabazaar as a platform, so we cannot tell you much about Paisa+ holders' experience specifically.

Is Paisa+ worth an FD?

Yes, if you need to build credit and want a card that works on UPI. Put in ₹10,000 or more so you get the 1.5% online rate and a usable limit, use it lightly, and pay in full.

If you do not need UPI, a lifetime-free secured card such as the FIRST WOW! Card avoids the ₹499 fee altogether.
