HDFC Millennia Credit Card2 reward points per ₹100 on LIC premiums and foreign currency spends, 8 domestic lounge visits a year, and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver (check the MITC for its transaction band and cap).
Axis issues two LIC co-brand cards, and on paper they earn the same. Both give 2 reward points per ₹100 on LIC premiums and on foreign currency spends. Both come with nil joining and annual fees in our records. What Signature adds is 8 complimentary domestic airport lounge visits a year. The LIC Axis Bank Platinum Credit Card lists no lounge benefit.
So the choice is simple. If you only want a card to pay LIC premiums, either works. If you also fly a few times a year and can meet the lounge spend rule below, Signature is the one to hold. This page is about the Axis Signature card, not IDFC FIRST's LIC Select or LIC Classic cards.
One flag before you apply: our record shows the card as lifetime free, but Axis's product page sends you to a separate fee schedule. Check the fee there before you accept an offer.
Users say the points redeem at roughly ₹1 each for Amazon Pay vouchers, with a small handling fee on each request. That makes the LIC rate close to 2%.
Users say paying through Axis NetBanking's BBPS bill pay adds no convenience fee, which keeps the full 2% intact. Third-party bill apps may not earn the LIC rate at all, so pay through an official route. Outside LIC, users put the return at about 1%, which is weak. Foreign spends earn 2 points too, but weigh that against the forex markup, which we could not confirm for this card.
Users report that Axis now asks for ₹50,000 of spend in the previous three calendar months before a domestic lounge visit works. That changes the maths. If you pay one big LIC premium a year and do little else on the card, you will clear the rule in one quarter at most.
Several users ask whether insurance premiums count toward that ₹50,000. We do not have Axis's answer, so check the current lounge terms before you plan a trip around it.
This is the most common complaint about the card. Users describe telecallers promising a lifetime-free Axis Vistara Signature card on WhatsApp or by phone, and then this LIC card arrives. Axis's Vistara cards are no longer issued, which makes the pitch a red flag on its own.
If it happens to you, do not activate the card. Write to Axis through the app or email, say it was not what you agreed to, and ask for closure with written confirmation of no fee. Keep the screenshots of the offer.
Apply if you pay ₹50,000 or more in LIC premiums each year and will pay through BBPS or an official LIC route. As a fee-free card, a steady 2% on that bill is a good deal, and the lounges are a bonus if your other spending clears the rule.
Skip it as an everyday card. At about 1% on general spends, the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card or a cashback card will earn you more.
