Frequently Asked Questions

₹20,000 in a quarter unlocks 1 domestic lounge visit in the next quarter. There is no international lounge access in our data.

Does the Federal Bank Signet card have lounge access?

Yes, but you have to earn each visit. Spend ₹20,000 in a calendar quarter and you unlock 1 domestic lounge visit for the next quarter. That is 4 visits a year at most, and none abroad. Older listings that say "8 free lounge visits" are out of date, and users list this spend rule as one of the biggest letdowns on Federal's core cards.

This page covers the Mastercard version. Federal also sells Visa Signet and RuPay Signet; only the RuPay card links to UPI.

A free card that earns very little

Signet is lifetime free, as a limited-period offer, so save the offer screen. Rewards are thin:

  • Electronics and apparel: 3X reward points
  • Entertainment: 2X reward points
  • Everything else: 1X

Federal's page does not state the spend unit in our check. The Visa Signet record lists the same grid per ₹200, so read it that way to be safe. Federal does not publish a point value, so we do not quote a percentage. Users consistently call the base rate low.

The small extras: a ₹200 Amazon Pay voucher on ₹3,000 spend in the first 30 days, and Swiggy vouchers when you spend ₹20,000 in a quarter. Users in a July 2025 devaluation thread pointed out that this voucher makes Signet look better than Celesta for some spenders. Our record also lists one INOX buy-one-get-one a quarter, but a July 2026 thread says the movie offer is gone, so check before you count on it.

What people really keep Signet for is Federal's campaign discounts: users report 10% to 15% off on Blinkit, Zomato and Swiggy during offer periods.

Got Signet when you asked for Celesta?

Five or more threads describe applying for Mastercard Celesta and receiving Signet with no choice. Upgrades do happen; one user reports moving from Signet to Celesta later. Federal does not publish the limit you need, though users link Celesta to an existing limit of around ₹4 lakh. A realistic path is 6 to 12 months of paying in full, a limit increase request, then an upgrade request.

The Scapia problem

Four threads say that holding a Federal core card like Signet stops you from getting Scapia, the zero-forex travel card Federal also issues. Federal does not publish this as a rule, but if Scapia is what you want, apply for it first and do not activate a Signet offer until you have decided.

Who should take the Signet offer

Take it if this is your first credit card and you want a free way to build a CIBIL history, or if you will use Federal's food and grocery campaign discounts. Skip it if you want Scapia, need real rewards, or already hold a basic free card like ICICI Coral; users say Signet adds little on top of one.
