Frequently Asked Questions

6% back on dining and travel and 1% on other spends, paid as points worth ₹1 each as statement credit. You also get a 1% fuel surcharge waiver.

Who the Mastercard PaisaSave is for

This card suits someone who eats out often and books flights or hotels directly, and who will spend about ₹10,000 a month to get the fee waived. If you want broad online cashback, or want to pay by UPI, look elsewhere.

One thing to sort out first: this page is the Mastercard PaisaSave issued by YES Bank. The PaisaSave RuPay is a separate card and the one you can link to UPI. SBM Bank's Paisabazaar Paisa card is unrelated.

How the 6% is really paid

YES Bank calls it cashback, but the card credits reward points. You get 12 points per ₹200 on dining and travel, and 2 points per ₹200 on other spends. Each point redeems as ₹1 of statement credit with no redemption fee, which makes the rates 6% and 1%. YES Bank's page confirmed this in October 2026.

Note the ₹200 unit. A ₹150 coffee earns nothing, and a ₹350 dinner earns 12 points, not 21.

Our database also lists a ₹3,000 monthly limit on the accelerated rate, and YES Bank did not confirm it in our check. If that limit is on spend, 6% stops at ₹180 a month. If it is on points, the ceiling is much higher. Ask YES Bank before you plan around it.

Why your flight booking might earn 1%

This is the dealbreaker users report. Bookings made on travel portals often post under railway or general transport merchant codes, not the travel code the 6% needs, so they earn 1% or nothing.

A few ways to protect yourself:

  • Make a small test booking on the same site and check the points on your statement before a big trip.
  • Look up the merchant code on the Monzy MCC finder.
  • Users find direct airline and hotel websites code more reliably than aggregators. That is a user tip, not a YES Bank rule.

The fee, and the "free for a limited time" offer

Joining is free. The annual fee is ₹499 + GST, about ₹589, waived if you spend ₹1.2 lakh in the year. The card is currently promoted as free for a limited time, so get that in writing on your application rather than trusting a sales call.

The math is easy. At 6%, about ₹9,800 of dining and travel pays for the fee. At 1% on everything else, you would need roughly ₹59,000.

It used to be a different card

When it launched in 2024, users report the card offered 3% on all online spends and 1.5% elsewhere. That is why older Reddit threads compare it with SBI Cashback. The current version pays 6% only on dining and travel and 1% on the rest, and many users feel the change made it a narrower card. Others report repeated Paisabazaar sales calls after checking eligibility, the same pattern seen on other Paisabazaar co-brands.

Monzy's take on the YES PaisaSave

Keep it if dining and directly booked travel are a big part of your month and you clear ₹1.2 lakh a year. Then 6% back with fee-free statement credit is a good deal at this price.

Skip it if most of your spend is online shopping, since users say SBI Cashback pays 5% across most sites with fewer code traps. If UPI matters, ask for the RuPay version instead.
