Frequently Asked Questions

Our records show ₹1,00,000 + GST, with an annual fee of ₹25,000 + GST waived on ₹10 lakh spend. IndusInd does not show these on its product page, so confirm them in the MITC.

The catch: vouchers pay the fee, you pay the GST

Relationship managers often pitch Pioneer Heritage as "effectively free" because the welcome vouchers match the joining fee. The fee itself may be covered. The tax is not.

Our records show a ₹1,00,000 + GST joining fee, so you pay about ₹18,000 in GST in cash. Users also describe a ₹2 lakh fee option, where the GST comes to about ₹36,000. After that, the annual fee is ₹25,000 + GST, waived only if you spend ₹10 lakh in the previous anniversary year. None of these figures appear on IndusInd's product page, so get them on the MITC and your offer letter.

This page covers Pioneer Heritage only. Pioneer Legacy and Pioneer Private are different cards in the same IndusInd Pioneer wealth line.

What we can and cannot confirm about Pioneer Heritage

IndusInd's product page lists the card's benefit programmes by name, Travel and Dining, without numbers. So:

  • Confirmed: golf is 4 complimentary games and 4 lessons a month from 10 March 2026. The ITC membership has been withdrawn for most holders (details below).
  • Described as unlimited: domestic and international lounge access, per our CMS and users. Check add-on rules on the MITC.
  • User-reported only: about 1% back on domestic spends, about 2.5% on international spends, and a 0% forex markup.

If rewards matter to you, ask IndusInd for the earn table in writing before you sign.

Is the earn rate good enough at this fee?

Using the user-reported figures, the maths is not kind. ₹10 lakh of domestic spend, the level that waives the annual fee, returns about ₹10,000. That is the most common complaint in our sentiment sample, raised in 9 threads. Users who like the card keep it for foreign spending and lounges, not for points.

Metal, plastic, Visa or Mastercard

Older threads describe two versions under one name, with Metal getting better lounge terms than the plastic card. From 1 April 2026, IndusInd moves all Metal renewals, replacements and new issues to plastic, and says benefits stay the same. Treat older Metal-vs-PVC comparisons as possibly out of date.

The network also mattered. The complimentary ITC membership on the Mastercard variant ended for existing holders on 5 October 2025, and anyone who joined on or after 15 September 2025 does not get it on either network.

Pioneer Heritage: worth it, or not?

Heritage works for an existing IndusInd Pioneer customer who is offered it lifetime free, or who will genuinely use the welcome vouchers on planned travel and spends a lot abroad. Users who got it free through their banking relationship are the happiest holders.

Paying ₹1 lakh plus GST for it as a rewards card is hard to defend. Seven threads describe pushy selling and unclear pitches on fees and GST. At this tier, users in our report prefer HDFC Infinia Metal (invite-only) for everyday rewards and Axis Magnus for its transfer partners.
