Frequently Asked Questions

₹2,999 + GST to join and every year. Our data shows no spend-based waiver, though users report RBL sometimes waives it when they ask to close the card.

A ₹30,000 month on World Prime

All rates are per ₹100. Say you spend ₹15,000 online and ₹15,000 elsewhere in a month:

  • Online at 4 Reward Points per ₹100: 600 points.
  • Everything else at 2 points per ₹100: 300 points.

That is 900 points. RBL does not state a point value in our data. Users who did the math on Reddit work out about 0.36% offline and 0.72% online, which puts a point near ₹0.18. So the month is worth about ₹160, or roughly 0.5% of what you spent.

Over a year that ₹3.6 lakh earns about 10,800 points, plus two milestone bonuses of 10,000 points each at ₹1.5 lakh and ₹3.5 lakh. Call it 30,800 points, about ₹5,500, against a fee of ₹3,539 with GST. Spend less than ₹1.5 lakh a year and you will almost certainly earn less than the fee.

Where the points stop on RBL World Prime

  • Online points are capped at 1,000 a month, so 4X stops at ₹25,000 of online spend.
  • Education, rent, utilities, insurance, wallet loads, cash, EMI, fuel and government payments earn nothing.
  • The 12,000 welcome points need the annual fee paid and ₹2,000 spent within 30 days. A card issued first-year-free gets no welcome points.

Lounges with a ₹35,000 condition

You get 8 domestic airport lounge visits a year, at most 2 a quarter. They unlock only if you spent ₹35,000 in the previous quarter, about ₹11,700 a month. The worked month above clears that easily; a light quarter does not. There is no international lounge benefit listed. The other perks are a BookMyShow buy-one-get-one offer, up to ₹200 off the second ticket twice a month, and a fuel surcharge waiver of up to ₹150 a month.

Is this the Bajaj World Prime SuperCard?

Many Reddit threads about World Prime mean the RBL and Bajaj Finserv co-brand, often called the World Prime SuperCard. Users describe features such as "interest-free cash" sold by agents, with a 2.5% processing fee they say was not mentioned. Those features may not apply to RBL's own World Prime. Check the exact name on your welcome kit and ask RBL for any cash-feature charges in writing.

Keep it, cancel it, or never apply?

Our sentiment read on this card is negative: users say ₹2,999 a year is hard to justify for rewards under 1%. Keep it only if you spend ₹3.5 lakh or more a year on it, use the lounges and the movie offer, or RBL has waived your fee. Several users say RBL offered a waiver when they called to cancel, so ask before you close.

If you have not applied yet, a free card will likely give you more. Users comparing it most often point to the Cashback SBI Card for online spend. If you want an RBL card for travel abroad, look at World Safari instead.
