Frequently Asked Questions

RESERV costs ₹2,499 + GST a year; users quote Marquee at ₹9,999 + GST in year one. Marquee earns more, but it only pays off at much higher spend.

RESERV at a glance

  • ₹2,499 + GST a year, with the joining fee waived on ₹40,000 of spend in 30 days and renewal waived on ₹3 lakh a year.
  • Base earn is 12 YES Rewardz points per ₹200 offline and 24 per ₹200 online. The 4.5% and 6% figures you see on Reddit need a paid multiplier plan on top.
  • The forex markup is 1.75%, but users say domestic lounges now sit behind a ₹1 lakh quarterly spend rule.

This is YES Bank's RESERV. It is not Axis Bank Reserve, Kotak White Reserve or IDFC FIRST Diamond Reserve. One more flag: the bank terms we checked in October 2026 came from YES Bank's NRI RESERV page. Resident terms may differ, so match them on the page you apply through.

The 4.5% and 6% depend on a subscription

Users rate RESERV highly as an offline earner, but nearly every positive thread assumes the 3X or 5X reward multiplier. That is a separate yearly subscription; one recent thread puts the 3X plan at ₹3,500 + GST. Users say it lifts returns to about 4.5% offline and 6% online when points go to flights or hotels.

Without the plan, you are on the base rates above, and YES Bank has not given us a point value to turn them into a percentage. So run your own numbers before you subscribe:

  • Take your yearly offline and online spend on the card.
  • Work out the extra points the multiplier adds over 12 or 24 per ₹200.
  • Value those points at what you actually redeem for. Users report the flight portal can price fares above booking direct.
  • Subtract the subscription. If the gain is small, skip it.

Also note the ₹200 spend unit: small transactions earn less than you might expect.

What happened to the lounges on YES Bank RESERV

Users are most upset about lounges. Several report that domestic lounge access on YES Bank cards now needs ₹1 lakh of spend in a quarter, and some asked to close RESERV over it. Our record lists complimentary international lounge access, but no visit count. If that rule applies to you, treat domestic lounges as worth nothing unless you already spend ₹4 lakh a year on the card.

The 1.75% forex markup is the other travel positive, well below the 3.5% common on Indian cards. Revolving interest is 2.49%, so pay in full.

Select, RESERV or Marquee?

Many RESERV holders come from YES Select through an upgrade offer. Users say those WhatsApp offers do not always state the joining or annual fee, so ask before you accept. Above RESERV sits YES Bank MARQUEE, which costs much more: users quote ₹9,999 + GST in the first year. It only makes sense if your spend and redemptions clearly beat RESERV with a multiplier. Our MARQUEE review covers that side.

The bottom line on YES Bank RESERV

Get RESERV if you spend heavily offline, will hit ₹40,000 in month one and ₹3 lakh a year, and are willing to do the multiplier maths. For that person it is one of the stronger earners at this fee.

If you want airline transfers and simpler redemptions, users prefer Axis Bank Atlas. If you value support and a smoother rewards portal, HDFC Regalia Gold comes up most often.
