Frequently Asked Questions

Users report having to register through Mastercard Travel Pass or a lounge app before the visit, rather than swiping the card. Do it at home and check the YES app for your current allowance.

₹2 lakh decides it

This page is about the YES Bank Elite+ card. It is not the SBI Card ELITE, which is a separate SBI Card product, or any other bank's Elite.

The number that decides whether Elite+ is worth paying for is ₹2,00,000. That is the yearly spend that waives the ₹999 + GST renewal fee, about ₹16,700 a month. Hit it and the card is free. Miss it and you pay about ₹1,180 a year for a card that, by users' estimates, returns 0.75% to 1.5%.

Year one is easier: the ₹999 joining fee is waived if you spend ₹20,000 within the first month.

What 12 points per ₹200 comes to

YES Bank counts rewards per ₹200:

  • Online: 12 YES Rewardz points per ₹200.
  • Offline: 6 points per ₹200.
  • Select categories: 4 points per ₹200.

YES does not publish a point value for Elite+. At about ₹0.25 a point, online works out to 1.5% and offline to 0.75%, which matches what users report. Spend ₹12,000 online and ₹5,000 offline in a month and you earn 720 + 150 = 870 points, roughly ₹220. Across a year, that ₹2 lakh-plus of spend earns about ₹2,600 and also clears the fee waiver.

Cash, education, EMI, fuel, government, insurance, rent and wallet loads earn nothing.

Getting into an international lounge

Lounge access is the main reason users keep Elite+, mostly as a backup card. YES Bank lists domestic and international lounge access and golf on the product page, but the visit counts are not in our verified data, so check the YES app for your card's current allowance.

The common snag is abroad. Users report lounge desks asking them to register through Mastercard Travel Pass or show an app QR code rather than just swiping the card, and some say the signup failed at the desk. Register before you fly.

LTF promises and fees

The loudest complaint about Elite+ is how it is sold. Users report sales calls and banners promising lifetime free, and a paid card arriving instead, with some taking the matter to the RBI Ombudsman. Get any fee waiver in writing before you accept. Sentiment on this card comes from about 15 threads, mostly about lounges and fees.

So, should you get Elite+?

Get it if it comes lifetime free, or if you will put ₹2 lakh a year on it with most of that online. Then it is a sensible backup card with lounge access.

Skip it if you would pay ₹999 a year for rewards alone. Users who spend heavily point to Yes Bank RESERV, and those who mainly want UPI payments prefer POP-CLUB. See our YES Bank credit cards guide for the full range.
