Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. IndusInd lists no joining or annual fee, and there is no spend target to keep it free.

Why Legend holders started asking for Tiger

On 7 March 2025, IndusInd Legend lost its complimentary lounge access. Since then, a lot of the talk about IndusInd cards has moved to Tiger, the lifetime-free co-brand IndusInd issues with Tiger Fintech, a Bajaj Capital group company. Tiger still gives you 2 domestic lounge visits a quarter, 2 international visits a year through Priority Pass, and 1.5% forex. Users say the domestic visits come with no spend target.

This page is Tiger only, not IndusInd Legend, Pinnacle or the Platinum cards.

The points get better only after ₹1 lakh

Tiger's earn rate climbs with what you spend in each card anniversary year. Every rate is per ₹100, and one point is worth ₹0.40 as cash credit against your outstanding:

  • Up to ₹1 lakh: 1 point, about 0.4%
  • ₹1 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh: 2 points, about 0.8%
  • ₹2.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh: 4 points, about 1.6%
  • Above ₹5 lakh: 6 points, about 2.4%

Reading each rate as applying only to the spend inside its band (check IndusInd's terms on this), ₹3 lakh a year earns 6,000 points, about ₹2,400. That is 0.8% overall. Push to ₹6 lakh and it becomes 20,000 points, about ₹8,000, or 1.3%.

There are no points on fuel, utilities, insurance, government, education or rent. Points are earned only up to your credit limit, and since 1 September 2024 you can redeem at most 5,000 points a month as cash.

Getting IndusInd Bank Tiger is the hard part

Users talk about the application far more than the card. The common stories:

  • IndusInd usually allows one primary card. One widely read thread describes being made to close two lifetime-free IndusInd cards before Tiger came through.
  • The online portal fails on OTPs and redirects. People who got through often retried or went to a branch.
  • Some users get an "approved" message and then a rejection citing internal policy.

Others get the card in a few days. Do not plan around it until it is active in the app.

Ask for Priority Pass on day one

Users say the Priority Pass does not arrive with the card. Call customer care after activation and request it. Users also report that add-on cardholders get no lounge visits at all.

The 1.5% forex is low but not zero. On ₹1,00,000 spent abroad, you pay ₹1,500 plus GST on the markup, against ₹3,500 on a typical 3.5% card. Frequent travellers often pair Tiger with Scapia for foreign swipes.

Smaller extras: a BookMyShow ticket up to ₹500 every six months, one golf game or lesson a quarter, and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver on fills of ₹400 to ₹4,000.

Is IndusInd Tiger worth it?

For a free card, yes. If you fly a few times a year and hold no IndusInd card yet, Tiger gives you lounges you do not have to work for, at no cost. Treat the rewards as a bonus unless you spend well above ₹2.5 lakh a year.

It is a weaker fit if you already hold an IndusInd card you do not want to close, or if you want strong everyday cashback.
