Frequently Asked Questions

1.5 reward points per ₹150, a 1% fuel surcharge waiver, and personal air-accident cover up to ₹25 lakh. There is no lounge access and no BookMyShow offer.

What changed in 2024, and what it did to your points

This card earns 1.5 reward points per ₹150, which is the same as 1 point per ₹100. Before 2024 that was a modest card. After two changes, it is a thin one.

  • From 1 March 2024, a point is worth ₹0.60 on non-cash redemptions (air miles excluded) and ₹0.40 as cash.
  • From 1 September 2024, cash redemption is capped at 2,500 points a calendar month.

So the real return is about 0.6% if you redeem for products or vouchers, and about 0.4% as cash. Spend ₹40,000 in a month and you earn around 400 points, worth roughly ₹240 at best. Fuel earns nothing; you get a 1% surcharge waiver there instead. The BookMyShow offer that older reviews still mention ended on 1 October 2022.

This page covers the IndusInd Bank Platinum Visa card only. It is not the IndusInd Platinum RuPay Credit Card, the IndusInd Platinum Master card, or another bank's Platinum card.

Is there lounge access on IndusInd Platinum Visa?

No. IndusInd's product page lists no lounge benefit, domestic or international, and no spend level unlocks one. The "Platinum" name is a card tier label, not a promise of travel perks. What you do get is a complimentary personal air-accident cover of up to ₹25 lakh.

If lounges matter, IndusInd's Tiger Credit Card is the same-bank card to compare.

Check the fee plan before you say yes

Our card record lists this card as lifetime free. The bank page does not show a fee at all, and it says the welcome gift applies only on "select fee plans", which means more than one plan exists. Go by your offer SMS or app screen, and get the fee in writing.

Be careful with upgrade calls too. One 2025 Reddit thread describes a ₹10,000 fee appearing after an IndusInd call that moved the user from Platinum Visa to a RuPay card.

Is IndusInd Platinum Visa worth keeping?

Only if it costs you nothing. As a free card it is a reasonable backup for bank-sale discounts and a simple way to build credit history if you pay in full. Our sentiment data is mixed across several "Platinum" cards, so treat that as a general read, not a verdict on this exact card.

If you are being asked to pay a fee, or you want a card that earns on everyday spends, pick something else.
