Yes Bank RESERV Credit CardSimple online cashback
HDFC Millennia Credit CardNot on paper. It carries a ₹599 + GST fee with spend-based waivers, though users report being offered it lifetime free by phone. Ask for written confirmation before you accept such an offer.
This page is about the YES Bank Select Credit Card. It is not the Axis Bank Select Credit Card or IDFC FIRST Select, which share the name but have different fees and rewards.
One number decides whether YES Bank Select is worth paying for: ₹1,00,000. That is the spend in the 12 months before renewal that waives the ₹599 + GST annual fee. It works out to about ₹8,333 a month. Clear it and the card costs nothing. Miss it and the fee eats a large share of what the card earns.
The first year is easier. The ₹599 joining fee is waived if you spend ₹10,000 on retail within the first month.
The earn rates look bigger than they are because they are counted per ₹200, not per ₹100:
YES Bank does not state a point value on the product page. Our working value is about ₹0.25 a point, which makes online spend roughly 1% back and offline roughly 0.5%. Treat that as an estimate until YES publishes a rate.
Worked out: ₹15,000 online and ₹10,000 offline in a month earns 600 + 200 = 800 points, about ₹200. Over a year that is around ₹2,400, comfortably more than the ₹599 fee, and that ₹3 lakh of yearly spend also clears the waiver.
From 15 June 2026, a long list of spends earns no points at all: rent, wallet loads, fuel, government payments, insurance, education, railways, toll, ferry and jewellery. EMI conversions and cash withdrawals are excluded too. If a big part of your month goes to rent, school fees or insurance, Select will earn far less than the headline rates suggest.
Select gives one complimentary domestic lounge visit per calendar quarter, but only if you spent ₹50,000 or more in the previous quarter. That is a maximum of four visits a year, and only if you spend ₹2 lakh spread evenly across the year. No international lounge access is listed, and we have no confirmed forex figure, so check the MITC before you use it abroad.
On Reddit, the YES Select threads are mostly about how the card gets sold. Users report agents pitching it as lifetime free, and one user says the card that arrived did not match what the agent promised. Others ask whether an LTF offer is worth taking, or how an upgrade offer to YES Reserv works when the WhatsApp message does not mention fees. If someone offers you Select without a fee, get it in writing before you accept. Sentiment on this exact card is thin, so treat these as individual experiences.
Get it if you already bank with YES, spend mostly online on categories outside the exclusion list, and will put at least ₹1 lakh a year on it. At that level it is a low-cost card that pays about 1% online, at our working point value.
Skip it if you want strong online cashback, regular lounge access or a card for rent and bills. If you are happy with YES Bank and spend more, compare the YES Bank Elite+ Credit Card. For the wider YES lineup, see our YES Bank credit cards guide.
