Axis Bank Pride Platinum Credit CardThe first year is free. From year two it is ₹1,499 + GST, waived if you spend ₹1.5 lakh in the year, and you get 1,500 points on renewal.
Older write-ups of this card describe a ₹1,499 joining fee, a ₹2 lakh waiver, a Visa or Mastercard network and no lounge visits. SBI's page in October 2026 says something different:
If a colleague's numbers do not match these, they are probably looking at an older version. And if your offer says Shaurya without "Select", that is the ₹250 Shaurya SBI Card, which earns half as much.
Shaurya Select earns 5X, which is 10 Reward Points per ₹100, at CSD canteens, departmental stores, grocery, dining and movies. Everything else earns 2 points per ₹100. SBI does not state a point value in our data; users put it at ₹0.25.
A household spending ₹15,000 a month at CSD and on groceries earns 1,500 points, about ₹375 a month or ₹4,500 a year. The same ₹15,000 on other spends would earn about ₹75 a month. So "5X" means about 2.5%, not 5%. That is the complaint users raise most: outside its lanes, the card returns just 0.5%.
Spend ₹50,000 in a calendar quarter and you get a ₹500 Pizza Hut voucher. Reach ₹5 lakh in a year and you get a ₹7,000 voucher. You also get 1,500 points on renewal. The fuel surcharge waiver is 1% on fills of ₹500 to ₹4,000, up to ₹250 a statement cycle.
If you will put ₹1.5 lakh a year on the card, Select costs nothing after year one and earns twice as much as the basic Shaurya. If your yearly card spend is under about ₹1 lakh, the ₹250 Shaurya is the cheaper card to hold.
Shaurya Select is a good card for one job: monthly CSD and grocery runs, plus SBI's festive sale discounts. Users who keep it that way are happy with it. Users who put all their spending on it tend to switch, because the base rate is thin.
The usual pairing in threads is Shaurya Select for CSD and the Cashback SBI Card for online shopping. If your salary account is with Axis or ICICI, compare their defence cards before you apply. Sentiment on this exact card is limited: most threads mention it inside wider discussions of defence cards.
