Frequently Asked Questions

Users report StarBiz is tied to a Federal Bank business Overdraft or Cash Credit facility, so a personal card alone does not qualify you. Ask your branch.

The catch: a payment tool, not a rewards card

Before anything else, two honest points. First, we could not open Federal Bank's StarBiz page when we refreshed this card in October 2026, so nothing here is confirmed by the bank. Second, nothing we have suggests StarBiz earns rewards. Our record lists no earn rates or benefits, and users of the Visa version report no points or cashback at all.

So why would anyone want it? Because it lets a Federal Bank business customer spend from an existing Overdraft or Cash Credit limit by card, and the RuPay version can, in principle, be linked to UPI.

Federal also lists a Fed StarBiz Visa with the same fees in our record. Only the RuPay card can be used for credit card UPI.

What we can and cannot confirm

  • Joining and annual fee: ₹275 + GST each in our record, about ₹325 with tax. Not bank-confirmed.
  • Reissue or replacement fee: ₹225 + GST per our audit. Unverified, and not a renewal fee.
  • Fee waiver, forex markup and fuel surcharge rules: only in an older Monzy dataset that looks templated across Federal cards, so we do not rely on them.
  • Rewards, lounges and welcome benefits: none listed.

Take this list to your branch and ask for each item in writing.

Can StarBiz RuPay pay suppliers by UPI?

Credit card UPI in India runs only on RuPay, so this is the version to ask for if you want to pay vendors by scanning a QR code. Whether Federal actually enables UPI on a commercial card linked to a working-capital facility is not confirmed in our data. Check in the Federal app or with the branch before you plan payments around it.

Users discussing Federal's commercial cards describe spending linked directly to the business OD or CC account and daily limits of up to ₹3 lakh, depending on the sanctioned facility. They also say the card is not issued on its own. A personal Federal card such as Signet does not qualify you in anything we have seen.

Worth asking your branch for?

Ask for it if you already run a Federal Bank OD or CC facility and want a simple way to pay vendors from it, including by UPI if Federal allows. Skip it if you want anything back on business spends; a business card with a published reward grid, such as Kotak Biz Edge, does that job. We found no Reddit thread about StarBiz itself, so user views here are thin.
