Frequently Asked Questions

No. It costs ₹1,499 + GST from issuance and every year after, unless you spend ₹4 lakh in a year to waive the next year's fee.

Who Duet Plus actually suits

Duet Plus makes sense for one kind of person: someone who spends around ₹8,000 a month on travel and dining, and chose this paid card on purpose. Everyone else is better off with the free Duet or a different starter card.

This is the paid RBL Bank card sold through Paisabazaar. It is not the free PaisaBazaar Duet, and mixing the two up is the most common complaint about it.

What you pay, and from when

The fee is ₹1,499 + GST, about ₹1,769, and it is charged from issuance. It is not lifetime free. The same amount comes back every year unless you spend ₹4 lakh in a card year, which waives the next year's fee.

You get ₹250 cashback as a welcome benefit, but only if you make a purchase within 30 days and pay the annual fee by its due date. Skip the fee and the ₹250 goes with it.

The ₹500 ceiling

Cashback is split into two buckets, both confirmed on RBL's page in October 2026:

  • 2.5% on travel and dining, capped at ₹200 a month. You hit that at ₹8,000 of spend.
  • 1% on other eligible purchases, capped at ₹300 a month. You hit that at ₹30,000.

So the most the card can ever pay is ₹500 a month, or ₹6,000 a year. Railways are excluded, so IRCTC bookings do not count as travel. Fuel, utilities, insurance, education, wallets and government payments earn nothing.

A realistic month: ₹5,000 at restaurants plus ₹2,000 on a flight earns ₹175. Another ₹15,000 of general shopping earns ₹150. That is ₹325, so you would clear the year's fee in a little under six months. A lighter spender who earns ₹100 a month never gets back what the card costs.

Two smaller extras: a BookMyShow 1+1 on weekend shows, worth up to ₹200 once per billing month, and fuel surcharge reversal up to ₹100 a month.

"I asked for Duet and got Duet Plus"

Users report the same story again and again on Reddit. A Paisabazaar caller pitches a lifetime-free card, and a Duet Plus with the ₹1,499 fee arrives. Some users also report repeated follow-up calls and a credit enquiry they say they did not authorise.

If you are applying, make the caller say the exact card name and fee including GST, and do not share an OTP until the screen shows "Duet Plus" and ₹1,499. If the wrong card has already reached you, do not activate it. Write to RBL saying you did not consent, ask for closure with the fee reversed, and keep the reference number.

What else holders mention

Users say approval is fairly easy for students and first-time applicants, and some keep the card only for RBL instant discounts during Flipkart and Amazon sales. On the other side, starting limits are often reported around ₹25,000, and many users call the rewards weak next to a plain cashback card.

Is PaisaBazaar Duet Plus worth it for you?

Only if you would really put ₹8,000 a month on travel and dining and want the movie offer. In that case Duet Plus pays its fee back within the year. If you mainly want a first card to build a credit score, the free Duet earns a flat 1% for nothing, and users who compared beginner cards preferred OneCard for its app and the lack of sales calls.
