Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, 1 complimentary airport lounge visit per quarter. Our record shows no spend condition, but users report BOBCARD tightening lounge spend rules on other cards, so confirm before you travel.

The middle rung between Easy and Eterna

BOBCARD Premier sits between Bank of Baroda's entry card and its top card. Compared with BOBCARD Easy, it adds 10 points per ₹100 on travel, international and dining spends and 1 airport lounge visit a quarter. Compared with BOBCARD Eterna, it earns a third less in those categories, leaves out online shopping and movies, and gives one lounge visit instead of unlimited ones. In return, its ₹1,000 + GST fee is waived at ₹1.2 lakh of spend a year, about half Eterna's ₹2.5 lakh.

Searching for "Premier credit card"? This page is Bank of Baroda's BOBCARD Premier, not the HSBC Premier Mastercard, which is a different bank's card.

BOB Premier credit card benefits, priced out

BOBCARD does not state Premier's point value in our record. On its Prime and Select cards it is ₹0.20, so we use that.

  • Travel, international and dining: 10 points per ₹100, about 2%. These share a cap of 2,000 points per statement cycle, worth about ₹400, reached at ₹20,000.
  • Everything else: 2 points per ₹100, about 0.4%.
  • Fuel: no points. You get a fuel surcharge waiver capped at ₹250 per cycle.
  • Welcome: 500 points after ₹5,000 spend in 60 days.

A ₹10,000 month with ₹4,000 on dining and travel earns 400 plus 120 points, about ₹104. Over a year that is ₹1.2 lakh of spend, which clears the waiver, and roughly ₹1,250 back.

"Travel" means the merchant code

Users in several threads say flights booked directly with airlines such as IndiGo earned only base points. BOBCARD awards 5X on the merchant category code the merchant sends, not on what you bought. Test with a small booking, or check the merchant on tools.monzy.co/mcc, before you put a big fare on this card.

The "lifetime free" offer and the ₹1,000 on your KFS

The most common complaint is a fee that does not match the offer. Users applied through lifetime-free links from CRED, branches or promo pages, then saw ₹1,000 on the Key Fact Statement or e-sign form. Our check of BOBCARD's page found no lifetime-free Premier. Only the FD-backed Premier has a NIL fee.

Since 1 September 2026, the standard card has no joining or first-year fee. From year two it costs ₹1,000 + GST unless you spend ₹1.2 lakh in the anniversary year. If an agent promises more, get it in writing before you sign.

Getting to Eterna from here

Many holders treat Premier as a stepping stone. One user describes upgrading a lifetime-free Premier to Eterna after more than a month of back-and-forth, and others report hurdles or no response. BOBCARD publishes no upgrade criteria, so treat it as a possibility rather than a plan.

Premier, yes or no?

Apply if you want a cheap second card for Bank of Baroda sale discounts, eat out regularly, and will spend ₹10,000 a month to keep it free. The quarterly lounge visit is a useful extra.

Skip it if you want dependable travel rewards, if you spend ₹2.5 lakh a year (Eterna earns more), or if you want UPI. Premier is issued on Visa and Mastercard, and credit card UPI works only on RuPay.
