AXIS BANK VISTARA Credit Card

Choosing an air miles credit card can feel like learning a new currency, because every bank counts miles differently and the real value hides in the fine print. This page helps you turn miles back into rupees, check which airline transfer partners a card actually offers, and decide whether you want miles, lounges or both before you commit to a yearly fee.

If you have stared at 12,000 miles on a statement with no idea what they buy, you are not alone. A miles card is only as good as the rupee value of a mile, and that moves with where you redeem. Judge every card on miles per ₹100, what a mile is worth on your actual redemption, and the yearly fee.
Start with Axis Atlas. Inside Axis, 1 EDGE Mile is worth ₹1, so 5 miles per ₹100 on travel is 5% and 2 on everything else is 2%. A ₹3 lakh year, with ₹2 lakh on travel, earns 10,000 + 2,000 miles plus a 2,500-mile milestone: 14,500 miles, about ₹14,500, against a renewal of about ₹5,900 with GST.
Now a co-brand. The KrisFlyer SBI Card earns 2 miles per ₹200 on everyday spends, just 1 mile per ₹100, and those miles cannot move to any other programme. Award tickets still charge cash taxes and surcharges, users warn, so price one award on your route first.
Count rupees, not miles. On SBI Card MILES PRIME, ₹50,000 a month with ₹10,000 on travel earns 7,200 Travel Credits a year. Transferred to a partner at ₹1 each, that is ₹7,200 against a ₹3,539 fee. Booked through SBI's portal at ₹0.50 each, it is ₹3,600, which barely covers the fee.
Transfer cards beat co-brands if you fly several airlines, as long as the partner survives.
Pick a co-brand only if one airline is already your default.
Many people buy a miles card for lounges and rarely redeem. Horizon gives 8 domestic visits a quarter on Visa and 6 on Mastercard, with no spend target. Emirates Sapphiro's domestic visits need ₹75,000 of spend in the previous quarter. If lounges are the real goal, compare on the lounge access directory, and for the whole trip see travel credit cards.
For most people who fly several airlines, a transfer card like Axis Atlas: 5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on travel, with Air India transfers at 1:2. Users report Axis has paused new Atlas applications, which Axis has not confirmed, so check first; our Atlas Reddit review has holders' views.
Only if you already collect Miles & More and fly Star Alliance long-haul. Users say economy awards often lose much of their value once taxes are counted.
The one that pays most where you book. Horizon pays 5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 only on Travel EDGE and direct airline websites; one holder reports ₹7,000 on RedBus earning no miles.
It depends on the programme. Miles and More award miles are marketed as non-expiring, and users say card spend keeps the account active; for KrisFlyer, check each batch's expiry.
This is my honest read, not formal financial advice. Partners and ratios change often, so check current terms before you transfer.
