Super-Premium and Metal Credit Cards in India (2026)

Super-premium credit cards cost ₹10,000 to ₹1,10,000 a year before GST, and many of the metal ones are not even open to applications. If you are weighing one, you are already asking the right question: will my spending actually pay for it? This page answers in rupees. You get the eight cards worth a serious look, the fee-back maths at ₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh a month, which metal cards need an invitation, and one clear pick for each kind of spender.

My honest take on super-premium credit cards

Every card here lists a fee of ₹10,000 or more, so ₹11,800 at least with GST. The question is not whether the card is good. It is whether your spending brings back more than the fee, and three things decide that.

First, what a point is worth. 5 points per ₹150 at ₹1 a point is 3.33%; at ₹0.25 it is under 1%. Second, the spend lines. HDFC Infinia Metal waives its ₹14,750 fee at ₹10 lakh, and users say ₹18 lakh a year keeps the card. Axis Magnus needs ₹25 lakh. Third, access. Several of the strongest cards are invitation only, and a card you cannot get is not a pick.

Run it at ₹1 lakh a month. HDFC Diners Club Black Metal earns about 40,000 points, roughly ₹40,000 at the ₹1 a point users report on good redemptions, and crosses its ₹8 lakh waiver. Magnus earns 72,000 points, about ₹14,400 at our ₹0.20 working value, against a ₹14,750 fee. For the long view, read our guide to super-premium cards for HNIs.

Metal credit cards in India: what the metal does not do

Metal is a material. It does not change your earn rate, lounges or fee. It does change the cost of losing the card: users report a reissue fee of about ₹3,500 + GST for a lost DCB Metal. Union Bank Nexteria is a RuPay metal card at ₹12,499 + GST, and from 1 April 2026 IndusInd is moving Pioneer Heritage and other Metal issues to plastic. If the metal is what you want, IDFC's Ashva Metal costs ₹2,999 + GST, and OneCard is lifetime free, though users put its base return at about 0.2%.

Forex markup and the private banking cards

Forex is where these cards differ most. On ₹5 lakh of foreign spend a year, IDFC FIRST Private charges ₹0, YES PRIVATE ₹2,500 at 0.5%, and Infinia ₹10,000 at 2%. Both come by invitation, usually through private banking; users cite a ₹5 crore relationship for YES. If you are not a private client, see our note on IDFC FIRST's zero forex cards.

Devaluations and fees nobody publishes

From 1 July 2026, accelerated SmartBuy voucher points on DCB Metal are capped at 3,000 a month, down from 10,000, per our SmartBuy cap note. Axis Reserve lost Oberoi offers on 1 October 2025. IndusInd's pages for Crest, Indulge and Pioneer Heritage do not show their fees, and HSBC does not show Premier's. Get the fee in writing. Our 2026 devaluation tracker has the full list.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the most premium credit card in India?

By fee, the HSBC Taj Credit Card at ₹1,10,000 + GST a year, about ₹1,29,800. By everyday value, users most often treat HDFC Infinia Metal as the benchmark.

Which metal credit cards can I apply for in India?

Union Bank Nexteria is the one with a described route: users report applying offline at a branch. Infinia Metal, Emeralde Private Metal and IDFC FIRST Private need an invitation.

Is HDFC Infinia worth it?

Yes, if you spend ₹18 lakh or more a year and redeem on SmartBuy flights and hotels at about 3.33%. Below ₹10 lakh you pay the ₹14,750 fee; see our Infinia Reddit review.

Is HDFC Diners Club Premium still available?

No. HDFC's page says sourcing has stopped and existing customers keep their benefits. Black lives on as the Diners Club Black Metal Edition.

Is there an SBI card among super-premium cards?

Not in this directory. For SBI's range, see the SBI Card directory.

This is our honest read, not formal financial advice. Banks change these cards often, so confirm the fee, the waiver and the point value before you accept.
